But what exactly is meant thereby actually?
On the presentation it depends: The term home staging means as much as "to stage a home". It describes a method, which was developed before approximately 30 years in the USA as sales-promoting measure with the real estate switching. Also in Germany this trend asserts itself ever more strongly.
What owners and advisors undertake exactly with Home Staging, is always individually decided. The goal, however, is always to bring the best features and advantages of the property to the fore for the time of viewing by potential buyers. That is:
The rooms should be prepared as appealing and neutral as possible.
All objects that could make too personal an impression are removed. Instead, the designers create a neutral feel-good atmosphere.
Home staging begins with the fact that the living rooms and any existing garden are freed from everything superfluous and brought to a high gloss. In addition, unusual pieces of furniture should be exchanged for less conspicuous ones. Thus the prospective customer can let the rooms work on itself and imagine better, how these could look with the own furnishings.
Home Staging does not mean to cover lacks, but to open area for dreams and desires and to stimulate the imagination of the potential new inhabitants. A few moves before a scheduled viewing can thus turn a prospective buyer into a buyer.
