Waren (Müritz) is the center of the lake district. It is located directly on the Müritz, the largest lake in Germany, and offers numerous water sports facilities in addition to the Müritzeum.

Neustrelitz fascinates with its baroque town center and the castle park that surrounds the former residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
