Herrenchiemsee Castle in Chiemgau, right next to us on Lake Chiemsee, is now also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The castle has been attracting visitors from all over the world for decades.

Herrenchiemsee Castle, Neuschwanstein Castle, Linderhof Castle and the Royal House of Schachen have now been awarded the World Heritage status of 'Outstanding Universal Value for the entire world community'. They bear witness to the artistic imagination and architectural masterpieces from the eccentricity of the 'fairytale king' Ludwig II's dream worlds.

This has once again confirmed that even decades later, a special building with a great deal of enthusiasm, ambition and architectural refinement has 'paid off' in the truest sense of the word. What was once frowned upon has now paid off in the long term.
