The municipality consists of three very different areas such as Benalmádena Pueblo which is a typical white Andalusian village stuck to the side of the mountain, Arroyo de la Miel with attractions such as the Tivoli and where there is all kinds of shops, restaurants and other facilities to meet almost all your needs and Benalmádena Costa which, as its name indicates, is the entire coastal strip where we find all kinds of beaches and little bays and where most of the hotels are located. The three centres are connected by urbanisations which each have their own identity and style. Special mention must be made of the Parque de la Paloma with all its animals in semi-freedom, the dolphinarium, the butterfly farm, the casino and the pleasure port "Puerto Marina".
A town habitated since prehistoric times, Benalmádena also offers very good access by road and train. Malaga city center is 27 km away and the international airport is 20 km away. In the direction of Gibraltar whose rock can be seen from many points of Benalmádena, are first Fuengirola, Mijas and less than 40 km we find the world famous Marbella and Puerto Banús.
