The locality of Caimari is one of the urban centres of the municipality of Selva, where the town hall is located. Moscari, Biniamary Binibona are other localities of the municipality. Caimari is situated at the foot of the Tramuntana mountain range, some 42 km from Palma and only 8 km from Inca. It is a small town with a predominance of stone houses and is known for its olive trees and oil production. The weekly market in Caimari is held every Monday in the main square, where fresh fruit and vegetables, pulses, flowers and plants, clothes and footwear, etc. are sold.
